Jay Maidment

Jay Maidment began his career as a Unit Photographer on television documentaries and dramas before being introduced in 1997 to the acclaimed stills photographer Keith Hamshere. Hamshere invited Jay to step in as his replacement on the set of Tomorrow Never Dies, giving Jay his first experience on a major action film. He quickly mastered the demands of the role, going on to collaborate with Hamshere again on The World Is Not Enough and Die Another Day.

In 2006, Jay was selected as the Unit Photographer for Casino Royale, Daniel Craig’s debut as James Bond. The following year, he was invited to join the prestigious Society of Motion Picture Still Photographers (SMPSP), with whom he has since exhibited internationally.

Over the years, Jay has built an extraordinary body of work across genres, though he has become especially renowned for his stills on large-scale action films. His collaboration with Marvel Studios includes Captain America: The First Avenger, Thor: The Dark World, Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Doctor Strange, Spider-Man: Far From Home, Black Widow, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Deadpool & Wolverine, Kraven the Hunter, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and the forthcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
